About Us

Enkalon Foundation is run by 5 Trustees with the support of an administrator. The Trustees oversee the finances, day to day running of the Foundation and assess all the applications from ex-employees, charities and groups at their quarterly meetings. 

Peter Dalton

Chairman

Peter joined British Enkalon in 1963 and remained there until its closure, after a number of posts he ended up as Personnel Manager! He has lived in Antrim since 1974 and has been involved in numerous activities in the town over that time period.

He enjoys golf in Massereene golf club and is still actively involved in local committees

Mark Patterson

Trustee

Mark is a Partner in the Chartered Surveying Practice of O’Connor Kennedy Turtle and has been involved in the Construction and Property sectors in Antrim and throughout N. Ireland for over past 20 years.

Mark joined the Enkalon Foundation as a trustee in 2011.

Stephen Montgomery

Trustee

Stephen has lived in the Antrim area since his family moved there for the opening British Enkalon. Stephen’s father was employed there from when it first opened right through until it eventually closed.
Stephen worked for 25 years in Michelin, before taking up the position of Health & Safety Director in his wife’s family business, Hutchinson Care Homes, during the company’s expansion..
 
Married to Janet they have a son James, and a daughter Louise. Stephen is an enthusiastic golfer, and member of Massereene Golf Club. and still keenly follows motorcycle racing.
 
Stephen joined the Enkalon Foundation as a trustee in 2011.

John Wallace

Trustee

John joined the Personnel Department of British Enkalon in 1973. In 1980 he took over the management of the British Enkalon Pension Scheme continuing in that role until the scheme was wound up in March 2011.
When the Enkalon Foundation was started in 1985 the late Dr R.L. Schierbeek invited him to administer the Foundation, a role which he fulfilled until November 2011, after which he became a Trustee.  

John has a keen interest in community development both locally and provincially as well as a passion for cross community activities. He serves the Church of Ireland on several committees including being a Trustee of the Church of Ireland Pension Fund. 

Married and living in the Borough of Antrim John has three sons and five grandchildren. He enjoys the theatre, gardening, history and travelling

Claire Cawley

Administrator

Claire was born and raised in Antrim and following a few years away at university she returned to settle here and start work and a family. She has worked as Administrator for Enkalon Foundation since 2011 and has a keen interest in the local area and volunteers on the board of governors of a local school and a community playgroup.
